Problem Solving

Tukutuku Weavings.

I went up in 3's and when I got to where I needed to get to I added 2 because the first pattern has 5 and so I take off 2 at the very start and add it on at the end.

7=23 crosses (7x3=21+2=23)
17= 53 crosses (17x3=51+2=53)
76=230 ( 76x3=228+2)

  1. Kia ora Neve,

    This is great - I'm pleased you were able to work out a rule to help you do this solving. How could you write the rule out for any number?

    Nga mihi,
