 Beach Clean Up

Clean up, clean up everybody clean up

- What is the problem: The Beaches are dirty and we need to save the wild life. (Birds and sea life)

-What are you trying to improve, create or change: how people treat the beach and clean them up (Pick up any rubbish they find and put it in the bin.

 -Where to go next? The beach

-What is your plan to become change makers? To make sure the world is tidy and clean for the           younger kids and the animals so they don’t eat it or get hurt on it

-Have you thought of ranking these in order of priority? We don’t have any ideas

-Grouping the list items in some way?

-How would you convince others that the change is needed and who do you need to convince? Make a video that we can put on a website saying all the things they can do to improve/help.

How can we improve schools?

 `How can we improve schools?

  • We can improve our school by extending our interval.

  • We can improve our school by having a long summer break.

  • We can improve our school by making the class rooms bigger and better.

  • We can improve our school by having late starts.

  • We can create new games in our house games.

  • More house colour games through-out the year.

  • Less strict teachers.

  • Let us wear whatever colour nail polish.

  • They could put the prices down at the canteen.

  • They should add puffer jackets to the uniform.

  • They need a bigger corridor in the office.

  • We need a bigger hall.

  • We need a bigger canteen.

  • We need blinds on our windows.

  • We need bigger corridors in all the classes.

  • We need to be allowed phones in school.

  • We should be allowed to watch youtube in class time.

  • We should get 10 minutes free time in between our classes.

  • We should have more time in P.E .

  • Carpet in classes that don't have it.

  • Get heat pumps for more warmth.

  • Give the student the wifi password.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

            What is the problem: The kids at school aren’t enjoying it.

What are you trying to improve, create or change: We are trying to make school a better place to learn and make rules less strict.

Problem Solving

Tukutuku Weavings.

I went up in 3's and when I got to where I needed to get to I added 2 because the first pattern has 5 and so I take off 2 at the very start and add it on at the end.

7=23 crosses (7x3=21+2=23)
17= 53 crosses (17x3=51+2=53)
76=230 ( 76x3=228+2)

How New Zealand Is Handling Covid-19

I think New Zealand is handling lock down very well compared to some of the other countries. Some family's probably got everything done in a week or so and now have nothing to do. We have hit our peak and now our cases are get less and less and soon we will be able to go back to school, work and hanging out with our friends. Our government is doing an amazing job in this situation. I think New Zealand is doing good at following rules on staying 2 meters apart and washing our hands to stop the spread. I think the thing New Zealand is doing bad, is people thinking they have to go out and break all the rules and spreading Covid-19 because of this.

How I learn

How do you learn best?
I learn best in a quite space and by someone who I can ask to help me. It is easier if the people around me are focused because if they are talking I get may get distracted easily and may join in their conversation. I also may need to write things down and need time to work it out.

What stops you from learning?
What stops me from learning is the noise level and people who don't want to learn so disrupt the class. I also struggle when I am stuck on a question but the teacher is busy sorting out other students.

What has been the most exciting part of being in year 9 so far?
The most exciting part of being a year 9 is meeting new people and making new friends. Some of the things are a struggle because most of the year 9's have been at the college and know how to do certain things  and I don't. If this happens I just ask for help and most of the time I get helped.
